Between Monday 9th - Friday 13th June, we’ll be sharing one of our ‘fundraising 5 asks’ each day as effective ways for you to raise vital funds for us and enable SYC to be here for more young people and families in the future. From taking on the Sheffield Mutual Sheffield 10K in September to becoming one of our amazing regular donors, your support will help make a life-lasting difference to the young people and families that we work with. You can download the full version of our fundraising 5 asks by clicking here.

On Wednesday 11th June, the Sheffield Adult Safeguarding Partnership Board will be delivering the ‘Understanding Adult Carers and Young Adult Carers’ training workshop. This training is for all professionals and will give you up-to-date information about the impacts that caring responsibilities can have on carers of all ages, as well as practical tips and resources for identifying and supporting them in your work. There are still places available, s book your spot now by clicking here.

During Carers Week, we will be holding an event where three former SYC members will be talking about their inspirational journeys in the worlds of education and work, sharing some of their top tips for achieving goals. These speakers will be also be joined by careers and higher education experts from different organisations across the city, as well as some fun activities and refreshments for everybody attending!

We will also be highlighting some of the recent work done by Young Carers National Voice (young carers who from across the UK who campaign collectively on issues that are important to them) by sharing tips from their working with young carers in schools resource pack they recently created for educational professionals. Find out more about Young Carers National Voice by visiting their website here.

We hope that you’ve found this useful and that you’ve got some ideas brewing for how you will get involved to make a difference this Carers Week. If you do get involved, make sure to let us know as we’d love to hear this!
