Carers Rights Day!

Each year Carers UK hold Carers Rights Day to help carers know their rights and find out how to get the help and support they are entitled to.

To help celebrate the day, here are some simple ways you can raise awareness and build support for young carers in Sheffield

1. Build your skills

Join us for free, interactive training via Zoom:

Young Carers and Higher Education: Mon 22nd Nov, 10am-11am, for secondary/post-16 staff

Understanding Carers’ Needs in the Context of Covid-19: Thurs 25th Nov, 9:30am-12:30pm. Co-delivered with Sheffield Carers Centre, for all professionals.

2. Support our campaigns

Sign up to our e-newsletter to get involved and find out more about our campaigns, including our campaign to get young carers included in the new Health & Care Bill. And follow us on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram to like, share and retweet our campaign posts!

3. Help the young carers you work with

Give them a copy of the free, downloadable ‘Know Your Rights’ pack and/or help them apply for the Young Carers Activity Fund (either £300 to get a break from their caring or a £20 e-voucher for each young carer you work

4. Raise awareness or money

Run an assembly or lesson, put up a display or add young carers to a meeting agenda. You can download free Carers Rights Day logos and posters here. We've got lots of great fundraising tips and ideas on our website too!
