'Ahoy there! In February half term, members of SYC’s Action Group spent a day on the Ethel Barge. Setting sail from Victoria Quays and cruising through the former industrial heartland of Sheffield towards Tinsley, they took in the sights, helped operate the locks and all took turns to steer the boat – a real highlight and something they will never forget!

We did it! On Saturday 23rd September we successfully completed the Peak District Challenge to raise vital funds for young carers from all over Sheffield. Eight staff members, trustees and friends of SYC completed one of two testing physical challenges - the Back Before Dark 10k and the 25k Copper Challenge.

One-to-One Funding Success

We are delighted to receive support from the local charitable trust, JG Graves, and from Trusthouse Charitable Foundation for our one-to-one work with young carers. We thank them to providing these vital grants that allow us to provide practical and emotional support to help young carers develop the confidence, resilience, skills and knowledge they need to cope with their caring.
