I am Richard McCourt but you may better know me as 'Dick' of 'Dick and Dom'.
You may not know this but I'm a local Sheffield lad and have recently found out about a special group of young people who live in the city - young people who look after some in their family who is very ill, has a disability or has drug or alcohol issues. These young people are known as 'young carers' and they make a huge difference to the lives of the people they look after.
If you are a young carer, I'd just like to say "Well done!". You are doing something very special and sometimes very hard - you should feel incredibly proud. And if you're a young carer living in Sheffield and are struggling with your caring role, with feeling different or with keeping up at school, there's a great project called the Sheffield Young Carers Project that is there to help! Just phone 0114 258 4595.
And to anyone else....Sheffield Young Carers Project is a charity that relies on donations and volunteers to be able to help young carers across the city. If you can help in any way, please get in touch!
