SYC offers support to children and young people aged 8-21 who are living in Sheffield and caring for someone at home, usually a family member, with physical or mental illness, a disability, and/or a substance misuse problem.

If you are working with a young person who is in a caring role, please discuss our project with them and their family. If they would like our support, please complete our Referral Form with them and send it in to us.

Please put as much information as possible on the form.  However, if you don’t have all the information please complete as much as you can and send it to us anyway. We will follow it up at a later stage.

This will then be dicussed at our weekly team meeting and an allocated worker will get back to you. If we are the right people to offer support, we will then arrange a joint visit with you to meet the young person and, where possible, the cared-for person to talk through the support we can offer them.
