On 15th April, MP Meg Munn (Labour, Heeley) visited an SYC Easter party to meet members of the project and hear their views about issues they face.
She spoke to four young people aged 13-16 about their experiences as young carers and the difficulties they have faced at school/college and in their wider lives.
She was very impressed by their open and honest comments, describing the young people as 'truly inspirational'. As a result of meeting the young people, Meg has agreed to take their views to cabinet, in particular the Minister of Education, and will feedback any progress and responses to the group.
SYC would like to thank Meg for visiting the group and ensuring the views of young carers are heard!
